name is joshua canty, but i am a man that goes by many names... so by all means use your imagination. this is a blog that will represent my art and incorporate my relationship with Christ as well. Its my first so bear with me
You read the title, and you are like “Hey, Josh Canty just said a pretty motivational yet cliche statement,” but i tell you this, my friends, i say it not with the intention to motivate or to be nice, i mean to be sarcastic. There would be stresses and sighes all over that phrase if you heard me say it… of course im just gonna refer to something ive noticed in movies, and not necessarily in the whole of the statement…. What i have noticed and have found to NOT enjoy, is that when im watching movies, when there comes a time that the main character is contemplating about life or whatnot, he/ she has often time had a sketchbook. Now this character, thus far, has yet to evoke a creative bone in his/her bod, nor has he/she have any affiliations with art, and yet here they are…. sitting on the steps of some building sketching GOD KNOWS WHAT in their little handy dandy sketchbook…. and it ends up looking dang good. Now i know what you are thinking, josh you are jealous, but no…. im not jealous, I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND… Does the pan down into a sketchbook, mark as a climax nowadays, or a turning point, or an omen that somehow lets the viewer know something drastic will soon happen?? I mean, wow. Im just getting a little tired of seeing it in movies when there is nothing that precedes these scenes that tell the audience that this character is an artist… or even LIKES art! then ALL OF A SUDDEN, out of the Blue, there is a pencil or a pen, and BAM a sketchbook too! with none other but awesome drawings of random stuff, so… all that being said, it frustrates me…
